The Popular Sanguine

A piece of humble share...

I learnt about different human personality characteristics based on personality profile test conducted in one of our Enme 450 (Industrial Management) classes. I found this quite useful especially in understanding ourself and people around us. It is vital to acknowledge people with different personality traits so that we won't easily get hurt and in return, treat others the way they supposed to be treated. Basically, human are divided into 4 main categories, namely Popular Sanguine, Perfect Melancholy, Powerful Choleric and Peaceful Phlegmatic.

Popular Sanguine, or also known as "the talker", can be described in terms of emotion by having appealing personality, storyteller, good on stage, always a child, sincere at heart, curious, emotional and demonstrative, wide-eyed and innocent, changeable disposition, have good sense of humour as well as memory for colour. In work, they volunteer for jobs, creative and colourful, charm others to work, think up new activities, look great on the surface, start in a flasy way and so forth. They make friends easily, love people, seem exciting, envied by others, prevent dull moments, thrive on compliments, don't hold grudges, apologize quickly and like spontaneous activities.


However, on the other side, they can be compulsive talker, exaggerate and over elaborate, egotistical, controlled by circumstances, too happy for some, seem phony to some people, have restless energy, get angry easily and never grow up. During work, they would rather talk, forget obligations, undisciplined, their confidence fades fast, priorities out of order, easily distracted and decide things by feelings. They hate to be alone, need to be center stage, want to be popular, dominate conversations, fickle and forgetful, make excuses and repeat stories.


I'll explain about the remaining characteristics later. Nevertheless, the diagram shows the interaction between all the personality traits...

Having said that different people have unique personality, I come to recall verse 13 of surah 49 (Al Hujuraat) in which Allah said:

"O mankind! We have created you from a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes that you may know one another. Verily, the most honorable of you with Allah is that (believer) who has At-Taqwa. Verily, Allah is All-Knowing, All-Aware."

It is indeed, human kind are different. However, what makes us better on top of the other is nothing but our TAQWA (Piety).
